Meat and sausage supplier to the royal family

Santiago Gallo, nicknamed ‘Lechuga’, moved to Madrid and founded a meat supply company in 1840. The quality of his products drew the attention of the royal family, and he later became their official supplier. He also served prestigious hotels like the Ritz and the Palace, as well as the homes of aristocrats from the royal court. In 1958, the shop was fully renovated and modernised. It is renowned to this day for its handmade sausages, cured meats and other meat products.
